Copper pipe is constantly popping up in home decor and craft projects these days. Turns out, you can easily use it to create a modern wall-mounted Christmas tree (a stylish solution if you're short on space or want to mix up your holiday decor.) As a bonus, you can still use all of your tree ornaments to adorn your new tree!

Things You'll Need
1/2-inch copper pipe (about 12 feet of it)
Pipe cutter
Measuring tape
Pencil
Twine or thick string
Nail
Hammer
Ornaments

1) Use a ruler or measuring tape to mark the pipe in the following lengths with a pencil: 27 inches, 24 inches, 21 inches, 18 inches, 15 inches, 12 inches, 9 inches, 6 inches, 3 inches, and 1 inch.

Tip: These measurements will make a larger tree with 10 rungs. Adjust the sizes or number of pipe rungs to fit your space. For example, you might just want a tree with five rungs and would want a smaller distance between the rungs for a more narrow finish, so you may want to measure five pieces at 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4 inches.

2) Next, use the pipe cutter to cut the pipe at each mark.

3) Line up the individual pipe pieces in order of size to make sure you are happy with the look.

Tip: At this stage, you want to make sure the differences in size between pipes creates the final look you want. For example, if you want a more narrow tree, make the distance between the pipe rungs smaller than 3 inches.

4) Take the string and tie it around the pencil, then start at the top rung and thread the string through each pipe. The pencil helps you get the string through the inside of the pipe. Once you get to the bottom, repeat the process in the opposite direction so the is string going from each pipe on each side.

Tip: We used twine instead of string because it was stronger than the string we had on hand. If you use string, make sure it is thick so the pipe does not accidentally cut it!

5) Once each pipe has string on both sides, adjust the tension on each string section until the pipes are the proper distance away from each other. This will take a little bit of trial and error. Once you are satisfied with the look, tie the string at the very top so that you can hang it up.

Tip: Another way to create the tree is to use sticky tape or adhesive strips to hang each pipe directly to the wall.

6) Decorate your tree using holiday ornaments. You can even add lights and a star at the top! The possibilities here are endless.
